Why This Exists

My dad owns multiple businesses in Irondequoit. A while back, he mentioned something that stuck with me — there was no longer a simple directory of local businesses in the area. No single place where someone could look up who does what in our community.

That’s how Irondequoit Directory started. Not as a big corporate project, but as a straightforward answer to a simple problem: if you live here and need a plumber, a pizza place, a barbershop, or a dog groomer, you should be able to find one without scrolling through ten pages of Google results for businesses in Henrietta.

Who’s Behind This

My name is Nick Nolan. I grew up in Irondequoit, served in the Marine Corps, and came back to Rochester to work in the family businesses and put down roots. I’m a self-taught web designer and marketer — I’ve spent years building websites, writing content, and helping small businesses get found online.

This directory is a side project built with the same tools and attention I’d give any client, but for the neighborhood I grew up in. Every listing is put together by hand, not scraped from some database. If something’s wrong or missing, that’s on me — and I want to hear about it.

Most listings in the directory are free. Featured listings are available for businesses that want a little extra visibility — including a highlighted placement on the homepage and category pages, and a do-follow link to your website for SEO value.

If you’re interested in a featured listing, you can learn more about listing options or email me directly.
